Statistics: Russia’s poor population falls by 0.5 pp Jan–Sep
MOSCOW, Dec 7 (PRIME) -- The number of people whose income is below Russia’s subsistence level fell by 0.5 percentage points to 19.6 million people, or 13.3% of the population, in January–September, the Federal State Statistics Service said on Friday, citing preliminary data.
In July–September, the number of poor people rose to 19 million from 18.8 million in April–June.
The monthly subsistence level for July–September increased by 0.27% on the quarter for employable citizens to 11,310 rubles, for pensioners it grew 0.37% to 8,615 rubles, and for children the figure went down 0.85% to 10,302 rubles.
The price of the minimal food basket stood at 4,822 rubles, the price of non-food goods amounted to 2,456 rubles and the price of services to 2,465 rubles, the service said.
